The Flight Starter is a mechanical launcher for light flying aircraft models, three of which are included in the kit. The unique design of the model is a pure work of imagination, creating a look reminiscent of something from outer space - a spaceship, a space shuttle or a blaster cannon from a science fiction adventure film. The pure sci-fi design is done in the Ugears skeleton steampunk style, which allows you to peek inside the working mechanism that you can assemble with your own hands.
The launcher is equipped with a rubber band motor that provides the tension that powers your aircraft when released. The trigger that releases the mechanism has a safety interlock. The tension, and therefore the distance your plane will travel, is controlled by a winding crank. The range of your new cool ballistic model can be more than 30 metres - depending on which "bolts" are used and how tightly the crank has been wound. A special bracket makes the crank part of the platform for the aircraft you will launch.
A high quality plywood and ergonomic design ensure that the launcher fits comfortably in your hand and you can aim more precisely.
The kit also includes a glider and two paper planes to use with your Flight Starter. Depending on how you set the angles of the wings and other elements of a glider before launching it into the sky, you can make it do a loop, barrel roll, nose-up and other fun manoeuvres.
If you want to build your own plane, the designers at Ugears suggest using relatively lightweight materials: Paper, cardboard, balsa wood, etc. The model kit consists of 198 parts and includes everything you need to assemble it. You will be working with a natural material that is pleasant to the touch and gives you a very comfortable feeling. Like all Ugears models, the Flight Starter comes with step-by-step instructions in 11 languages (English, German, Ukrainian, French, Polish, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Italian, Chinese and Korean) and does not require glue or special tools to be fully assembled into a working mechanical launcher.
